St Monica English Medium School, Kumbla, had the privilege of welcoming Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore and President of the Institution, to the school on 19 September 2026. A formal function was organised in the school auditorium to honour and welcome His Lordship.
The programme was gracefully compered by Mrs. Smitha. The function commenced with the welcome address by Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, Manager, who warmly welcomed the Bishop and the gathering.
This was followed by the School Report presented by Sr. Sharmila, In-charge Principal, highlighting the school’s academic progress and achievements.
A special Felicitation Ceremony for the Board Examination Achievers of 2025–26 was then held. Tushara, who secured 96.8% in the Board Examination and scored 100/100 in Information Technology, and Anusha, who secured 95.4% and scored 100/100 in Hindi, were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievements.
The school then extended a warm felicitation to Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha as a mark of respect and gratitude. His Lordship addressed the gathering and shared an inspiring message with the students and staff.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Deekshitha D’Souza, Academic Staff Secretary, who expressed gratitude to the Bishop, school management, staff, students and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The Bishop’s visit was a memorable and meaningful occasion for the entire St. Monica family, leaving the school community encouraged and inspired.
