Independence Day Celebration
Freedom is one of the greatest treasures of our nation, earned through the courage and sacrifices of countless freedom fighters. It gives us the right to live with dignity, unity, and responsibility while inspiring us to contribute to our country’s progress. Independence Day reminds us of this precious legacy and our duty towards the nation.
With this spirit of patriotism, St. Monica School, Kumbla, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and pride. T. P. Ranjith, Additional Superintendent of Police (Retd.), Kannur Rural and Director & CEO, Wintouch Multispeciality Hospital, Kasaragod, was the Chief Guest, while Rev. Fr. Boniface Pinto, Professor, St. Joseph Seminary, was the Guest of Honour. Rev. Fr. Melwyn D’Souza, Manager; Sister Sharmila, Principal; Mr. Ramesh Rai, PTA Vice President; other PTA members; and members of the Parish Pastoral Committee were also present for the programme.
The programme featured flag hoisting, General Salute, National Song, National Anthem, school parade by the four houses, patriotic song, multilingual speeches in Kannada, Hindi, English and Malayalam, mass drill, tricolour formation and patriotic dance. The students showcased their talent, discipline, creativity, teamwork and patriotic spirit through their impressive performances.
The Chief Guest distributed prizes to the winners of the Chess Championship and various school competitions, appreciating their achievements and encouraging them to strive for excellence. The celebration was a vibrant and memorable tribute to the nation, reflecting the students’ deep love and pride for India.
